Phosphorous Bronze sheets and plates generally consist of about 88-96% copper, 4-5.5% tin, and 0.01-0.4% phosphorus, with minor amounts of lead, zinc, nickel, and iron depending on the grade. They have a melting point around 930°C and density approximately 8.85 g/cm³. Mechanical properties include tensile strength from 320 to 740 MPa, hardness between 75 to 230 HV, elongation from 2 to 45%, and a modulus of elasticity around 121 GPa. These materials also exhibit good machinability, fatigue resistance, and low magnetic permeability.
