Nitronic sheets and plates typically contain chromium (16-19%), nickel (7-13%), manganese (7-9%), silicon (3-4.5%), and nitrogen (0.08-0.4%) along with minor molybdenum and carbon. This composition provides exceptional tensile strength (up to ~860 MPa), superior resistance to galling, wear, and fatigue, as well as excellent corrosion resistance in acidic and chloride environments. The alloys maintain good ductility and can withstand elevated temperatures, making them suitable for a variety of tough applications.
