Nitinol is a nickel-titanium alloy composed of approximately 55% nickel and 45% titanium. It is known for its unique shape memory and superelastic properties, which allow it to return to a pre-defined shape when heated. This alloy exhibits high corrosion resistance and excellent mechanical properties, including a tensile strength of around 550-700 MPa and a yield strength of 200-300 MPa.
